I hired my very first life coach in my mid twenties.
Her name was Bonnie Cohen and we met by phone because that was the only "virtual" option at the time.
I was working full time at a job I hated. I was tired, depressed, anxious and overwhelmed. I slept with my guitar (I was single) and could barely pay rent.
I hired her to help me do more, be more, and produce more.
I showed up to our second call, sat in my bay window, told her how I was feeling and waited for her motivational speech.
I expected her to tell me to buck up and perhaps start training for a marathon.
But instead she said - in a voice like honey
"Sometimes you have to pull up the covers and stay in bed..."

I was almost... offended.
"Well..." I stuttered. "I can't do that."
Then she said, "If a little girl walked into your apartment right now - feeling like you do - what would you do?"
The answer came immediately, of course.
"I'd wrap her in a blanket, make her a snack, and tuck her into bed."

I took the next day off from work. The world kept spinning which was also deeply shocking.
This lesson has stayed with me for over 20 years.
Being a Woman on Earth is a deeply intense experience.
Sometimes the best strategy is to take it light. Reorganize your schedule. Hide. Rest.
ā€‹Sometimes this is what playing big looks like.
Depending on the season and what's going on in the world, I create free workshops, fundraisers, and / or Sisterhood gatherings. Sometimes I'm gearing up for Rockstar Camp enrollment which sells out quickly.
Sometimes I just have updates or feel the impulse to write to you and check in.
